this cat i drew with my eyes closed... well, mostly...
I drew the entire outline (i guess it was technically my second attempt to draw eyes closed, cause the first time it thought i had started drawing when i in fact hadn't
been using the correct paint tool, so i started over) of the cat first. Then i had to fix its butt, front leg, and then draw the entire face. I think, considering the limitations, it came out pretty good, definitely a little better than the last two "experiments".

2008 idraw cats dot com fan pledge drive
In an effort to draw better cats, I think i need a wacom pad.
From wacom's website:
"Bamboo is a new category of pen tablets that help everyday people convey their ideas more clearly. With the natural feel of pen-on-paper, Bamboo and Bamboo Fun plug into your computer and make it quick and easy for you to get your point across.
Whether you're preparing a slide presentation or making a unique collage of your favorite photos, Wacom's newest line of pen tablets gives you more control with patented pen technology that puts the ability to personalize your work right in your hands."
Clearly this device would take this website to the next level, and heres where you the idrawcats viewer come in. This wacom pad will be paid for completely on value created by you the viewer!
You might ask your self "well michael, how do i create value that can then be used to enhance the quality of the cats drawings that i love to look at every hour?" Easy! theres many things you can do to help:
1. click on the lovely ads (most of them are for cat urine cleaner, trust me on this, you're going to want to carry 3-4 bottle of this product on your person at all times)
2. buy stuff from the idrawcats online store, that has anything you could ever want to wear in it
3. Donate!
Thanks, With wonderfully $upportive viewers like you idrawcats can be a succees!
sketch cat
I went with a slightly different format on this one. This is done in mspaint using the pencil, eraser, and the magnifying glass. I'll have to play around with this technique in Photoshop at some point (ms paint doesn't have layers, which could make it pretty easy to transfer the sketch into a fully fledged draw cat, maybe eveh with colors.

kenya riots
Today i'll be starting a new feature on the site:
Drawings of Cats Reenacting Current World Events
And to kick off this brand new section heres a pretty hot news item:
Violence follows re-election of Kenya's president
NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — President Mwai Kibaki won a second five-year term Sunday in an election marred by widespread allegations of rigging, and the government swiftly suspended live television coverage as riots raged in the slums home to thousands of opposition supporters. ... More
